Through Connect-D, Airbus is delivering a state of the art welfare and secure communications services. This fits well with Airbus' portfolio, as it has over 15 years of extensive and proven experience in delivering welfare services to Ministry of Defence (MoD) organisations across Europe.
The Connect-D programme allows soldiers to have phone and internet access, the ability to listen to live radio and watch movies comfortably in their accommodation or in internet cafés, just as they would at home. Furthermore, Airbus' agility is demonstrated through the average roll out of welfare services delivered to new camps being an incredible 4 weeks from contract award.
Connect-D is further creating and benefitting from strong synergies within Airbus by using shared services, infrastructures and competencies from all those involved.

Connect-D is a great example of a digital end-to-end service, with the capability to utilise hybrid network fibre and satcom digital platforms. As a result of this, the service is constantly evolving in areas such as digital data and media distribution to keep up with the ever developing demand.
