Hailed as one of NATO’s success stories from 2019, Airbus Norway has successfully delivered NATO Communication and Information Systems (CIS) Services for the Multinational Division Northeast (MNDE-NE) HQ in Elblag, Poland.
The program also includes the 15 Mechanised Brigade (15BZ) in Orzysz, Bemowo Piskie Training Aera (BPTA) in Bemowo Piskie and the Mission Anchor Function (MAF) in Cracow, Poland.
During the General Manager’s speech at NITEC19 in Oslo, this project was referred to as one of NATO success stories in 2019. In addition, the NATO Project manager Mr. Berend Seegers was recently awarded NATO’s highest honour for delivering this project.
“Seegers led all stages of the project, from technical proposal to cost estimation, contracting, implementation, acceptance tests, and accreditation. As a result of Seegers's expertise and drive to deliver, the project was executed on time and on budget against tight time constraints. Hailed as one of the fastest and most successful deliveries by the Agency of its kind, the project led to enhanced command and control capabilities and cyber resiliency - greatly boosting NATO's Forward Presence in the East.”
The Airbus responsibilities involved in this project include project management activities, the procurement and delivery of the CIS equipment, the certification at different TEMPEST levels (A to C) of selected CIS equipment, the procurement and delivery of the services for the configuration and installation of the equipment and software in the MND-NE locations, testing and acceptance conditions and activities. The Airbus responsibilities also involved the integrated logistics support activities and deliverables, and trainings of the local support personnel on as-built system operations as part of the systems handover.
Based on a fantastic team effort, highly skilled and dedicated employees, a solution oriented mind-set and open communication with all parties; we have delivered this challenging project successfully on time, on cost and on quality; even though the working conditions on site was rough and dusty as the site was refurbished at the same time we installed the CIS solution.
